Olympic champion chooses Kaplan for his English language courses

Double Olympic Kazakhstani weightlifting champion Ilya Ilin will be taking up Kaplan English courses in London. Ilya broke two world records and won an Olympic gold medal in the men's 94kg category during last summer's games with a world record total of 418 kg. He was also the only Olympic weightlifter to retain their title from the Beijing Olympics. The Kazakhstani national hero is now thrilled to be studying and learning to speak English with Kaplan International Colleges at the Covent Garden language school in London.

The Kazakhstan London Olympic champion has revealed that learning English is an important personal goal which he aims to do in the city where he has achieved his greatest professional successes by achieving all his sporting targets. Learning English will take a priority for the Olympic champ, as he takes a 10 week long general English course. The semi intensive program will focus on improving his reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Iliya recognises that having a good understanding of English opens new possibilities for friendship and professional connections.
