About the Courses
General English Courses
The General English Course at MLI runs from September to June. It is divided into three terms.
Short and long term students are eligible to participate in the general English programme which consists of 20 lessons per week which focus on improving all areas of language acquisition.
Students can also attend a more intensive English language programme which consists of 30 lessons per week.
Our aim is to provide students with a wide range of linguistic skills thus ensuring that students are at ease with the English language and the English speaking world.
All students have access to computer and study facilities and all are welcome to participate in monthly excursions and visits.
One-to-one tuition is also available for students who require a course which is tailored specifically to meet their requirements.
Examination Courses
Morehampton Language Institute offers intensive examination programmes for students who intend to take either a Cambridge examination or the TOEFL examination.
These courses offer students the linguistic skills and the exam technique necessary to achieve high grades. In turn, a high degree of commitment and hard work is expected of the student.
CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATIONS
Cambridge exam courses begin at least one week prior to exam registration so that students can be assessed and registered for the exam most suited to their language level. Throughout the course students are continually assessed and receive regular examination assignments in addition to pre-exam tests. Students wishing to take the exam in their own country can attend a shorter course within the course framework.
TOEFL EXAMINATION
TOEFL students attend preparatory classes in the afternoon in addition to attending the General English programme. TOEFL students also have access to computer facilities in order to prepare for TOEFL computer-based testing.
Self-access study facilities and computer facilities are available to all exam students. In addition, teachers and student-liaison staff are always on hand to offer support and practical advice to help with exam nerves!
Executive Courses
A range of executive business English programmes offer the professional a wide choice. All executive English programmes are conducted by highly skilled, specialised and experienced tutors.
NEEDS ANALYSIS
As courses are tailored to suit the individual's particular needs we request that all participants in our executive English programme contact us prior to attending a course.
DISTANCE LANGUAGE LEARNING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The learning does not have to stop when your course finishes! MLI offers a distance-learning programme by email. Assignments are set and you and your tutor conduct classes across the "Information Superhighway" !
The Accommodation office will look after your accommodation needs. You can choose from a range of executive host families, or guest house or hotel accommodation in the vicinity.
Anglo-Irish Literature

James Joyce
W.B. Yeats
G.B. Shaw
Samuel Beckett
Oscar Wilde
Modern Irish Writers

Irish History - perspective
